What do Dentures cost?
In countries where Denturism/Dental Prosthetics is legally performed by Denturists, it is typically the Denturist association that publishes the fee guide.
In countries where it is performed by dentists, it is typically the dental association that publishes the fee guide. Some governments also provide additional coverage for the purchase of dentures by seniors.
Cost with insurance
Typically, only standard low-cost dentures are covered by insurance and because many individuals would prefer to have a premium cosmetic denture or a premium precision denture they rely on consumer dental patient financing options.
Low-cost dentures
A low-cost denture starts at about $500–$950 per denture, or $1200–$1,800 for a complete set of upper and lower dentures.
These tend to be cold cured dentures, which are considered temporary because of the lower quality materials and streamlined processing methods used in their manufacture. In many cases, there is no opportunity to try them on for fit before they are finished.
They also tend to look artificial and not as natural as higher quality, higher priced dentures.
Mid-priced dentures
A mid-priced (and better quality) heat-cured denture typically costs $500–$1,500 per denture or $1,000-$3,000 for a complete set.
The teeth look much more natural and are much longer-lasting than cold cured or temporary dentures.
In many cases, they may be tried out before they are finished to ensure that all the teeth occlude (meet) properly and look aesthetically pleasing.
These usually come with a 90-day to two-year warranty and in some cases a money-back guarantee if the customer is not satisfied. In some cases, the cost of subsequent adjustments to the dentures is included.
Premium dentures
Premium heat-cured dentures can cost $2,000-$4,000 per denture, or $4,000-$8,000 or more for a set. Dentures in this price range are usually completely customized and personalized, use high-end materials to simulate the lifelike look of gums and teeth as closely as possible, last a long time and are warranted against chipping and cracking for 5–10 years or longer.
Often the price includes several follow-up visits to fine-tune the fit.

Denture cost for pensioners?
Subsidised emergency and general dental care for adult concession cardholders is available through public dental clinics or private dental clinics participating in the Government Subsidised Dental Health Care Scheme.
Holders of a current Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card are eligible for emergency and general dental care at the basic rate of subsidy.
This rate is currently 50 per cent of the cost of treatment. Holders of the Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card are eligible for care at public dental clinics in certain remote locations. This treatment is charged according to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs schedule of fees.
Denture cost without insurance
Without dental insurance, dentures are quite costly. The average cost of complete dentures can be anywhere from $1300-3200.
If you need your teeth extracted first, the price goes up even more. Without insurance, it can cost up to $350 per tooth.
Denture cost Perth
The price of dentures is dependent on the type of false teeth you need and the materials used.
For example, complete dentures will cost more than partial dentures, and chrome-plated dentures will cost more than acrylic.
According to the 2017 national dental fee survey, a full upper and lower conventional denture (item 719) in Australia can cost up to $3,870. For either an upper or lower denture (not both) the cost can be up to $2,000.
Denture cost for one tooth
A typical clinical fee for a single crown is $900, or $2,700 for a three-unit fixed partial denture. Alternatively, the implant restoration fee is $1,500, including a crown fee of $900 and a custom abutment fee, if required, of $600.
Denture cost vs Implants
The upfront costs with dentures are also less expensive than dental implants, but it is important to note that you will likely need to replace them every few years.
Dental implants are an innovative and modern solution to correct missing teeth.
This is a long-term solution to tooth loss, as implants won’t move or slip.
Denture cost per arch
If you’ve been wondering how much full dentures cost in Australia, then you’ve come to the right place. According to the National Dental Fee Survey of 2017, a conventional upper or lower acrylic denture can cost up to $2000 whereas you can expect to pay up to $3870 for a combination of both arches.
Denture cost with insurance
The average cost of complete dentures can be anywhere from $1300-3200. If you need your teeth extracted first, the price goes up even more.
Without insurance, it can cost up to $350 per tooth. If you have dental insurance, it will probably cover part of the cost.
Dentures cost Medicare
From the foregoing, dentures are not essentially covered by Medicare. So it is advisable that you get your dentures from a clinic that works in partnership with established health funds.
I will ensure you have prompt and efficient payment processing for all your private health fund claims.
